India’s Response: “Misinformed and Unacceptable”
India’s Ministry of External Affairs responded swiftly, calling Khamenei’s remarks “misinformed and unacceptable.” The Indian government emphasized that countries should reflect on their own records regarding minorities before commenting on others. Human rights organizations have voiced concerns about the rising mistreatment of Muslims in India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
